The first Primary School was commenced in the year 1896 by St. Antony's church, Ollur. Thereafter another primary school was commenced by St.Mary's Convent Panamkuttichira, in the year 1900. Subsequently Ollur church arranged building, playground etc in the year 1918 at the adjacent Church compound for the working of Govt. High School. For many years, the Govt. High School functioned in the church building. Recently, Govt. H. S. shifted to its own building facing the main road. Holy Angel's Eng. Medium High School and St. Mary's Convent High School have scored 100% success in the S. S. L. C. Examination. Kum. Nita Geeth Josoni Kokkaly and Divya Davis Mechery were rank holders of S.S.L.C. Exam. 2000.
Vaidyaratnam Ayurveda College, Thaikkatussery, Ollur was founded by Padmasree E.T Neelakantan Moose (Member of Ashta Vaidyans family) and associates.
